Ramos Gin Fizz Cocktail
- 02 Nov 2011
Created in the late 1800's in New Orleans, the recipe was kept a secret until it was published in a newspaper by the Ramos brothers during prohibition after their bar had closed.
During its day, its 120ft bar was once manned by 15 bartenders who would pass the shaker over their shoulders after each took turns in shaking.
To make the prefect Ramos Gin Fizz, it takes approx 10 minutes of hard, continuous shaking. This drink is normally seen being enjoyed by a solitary female at the bar, who is normally the bartender’s spouse or girlfriend. There are some things we should never tell our other halves.
To punish your man at home you will need him to get the following -
50ml Gin
25ml fresh lime juice
25ml fresh lemon juice
25ml sugar syrup
dash orange blossom water
50ml Cream
Shake for a long time, but delegate when your arms tire, strain into a tall glass with no ice, and top with a small dash of soda or sparkling water.
