Jack Frost Rose - £8.00
The Jack Rose was a drink popularised in the years following the repeal of prohibition in 1930's America, a time when spirits made on home turf were celebrated rather than shunned. The original recipe called for an apple and whiskey based liquor called Applejack. We are using Pere Magloire Calvados in its place, with sage and cranberry syrup and fresh lime. This drink explodes with sharp fruit on the first sip and the rich apple lingers on the palate. Served straight up in a chilled coupé glass.
O Christmas Tree - £6.75
One of our most popular cocktails since opening 4 years ago has been the timeless modern classic; the Clover Club. The flavour and texture of the drink are second to none and we have made some very tiny adjustments to give it a more festive slant. Tanqueray Gin with Dubonnet Rouge, fresh lemon juice and foraged blackberry and concolor pine syrup. Shaken with hand-chipped ice and a splash of egg white to give a fluffy sherbet mouth sensation. Served straight up in a chilled coupé glass.
Holly Roger - £11.75
Pussers 15 yr old rum, stirred gently with Champagne syrup and homemade Christmas Bitters. Served over a single hand-chipped ice block this drink is rich and decadent, with a long smooth finish.
White Christmas - £7.00
The 'White Cargo' is a drink that first appeared in the 1930 Savoy cocktail book, compiled by the world famous bartender Harry Craddock. It consisted of London Dry Gin, vanilla ice cream and a splash of white wine. We have taken this delightfully simple drink to a new level by using Pere Magloire Fine Calvados, homemade rum 'n' raisin ice cream and a drizzle of heather honey. Short and sweet, served in a chilled coupé glass.
The Most Wonderful Thyme - £7.25
An inspired variation of the ever popular French 75. Martin Miller's Westbourne Gin, fresh lemon juice and thyme infused sugar syrup is shaken then topped up with crisp Prosecco in a chilled flute. The savoury thyme works perfectly alongside Martin Miller's flavour profiles, creating a luxuriously complex aperitif.
Woodcutter's Wife - £9.75
To coincide with the Scottish Ballet's production of Hansel and Gretel, we have created this tantalising cocktail inspired by the classic childhood fable. We have combined Martin Miller's Gin with Amaro Nonino, fresh lemon juice, lemon curd and ginger syrup, candied peach pureé and a splash of egg white. Shaken and served punch style with crumbled puff candy on top.
Americano on 34th Street - £8.00
The Americano was the predecessor to the now renowned Negroni cocktail created in Florence around 1919. It was served long with ice and our version calls for Hayman's Sloe Gin, Triple Sec, Maraschino liqueur, Campari and dash of Christmas Bitters. Built in the glass and lengthened with a soda spritz.
The First Nolet - £8.50
This drink is inspired by Joannes Nolet, founder of the Dutch vodka company Ketel One. He was the first in a long line of Nolet family members to have run the distillery in Schiedam since 1691. We are using their Citreon vodka with Amer Picon, Cointreau, fresh lemon juice and ginger ale. Long and refreshing, served over hand-chipped ice in a stemmed punch glass.
Walking in the Air - £7.50
Our version of the Old Fashioned Cocktail has been a pillar of our drinks list since day one. In this variation we have substituted the usual rye whiskey with raisin infused Johnnie Walker Black Label, added Cocchi Americano vermouth, foraged blackberry and concolor pine syrup and Christmas Bitters. Stirred and served over a hand-chipped ice block to create a delightfully rich digestif style drink.
Hot Buttered Tequila - £10.00
The subtle spice of Don Julio Anejo Tequila works stunningly in this warming creation. We add to it fresh pineapple juice, home-made pineapple syrup, Black Walnut Bitters and butter.
Chai Buttered Rum - £8.50
This exotic South Asian inspired drink is created by blending various dry herbs and spices with butter to produce a chai masala mix, which we then warm up with Pampero Especial rum, pressed apple juice and a Muscovado syrup.
Blythswood Eggnog #2 (serves two) - £15.00
Our Eggnog went down so well last year, we are doing it again with a couple of tweaks. Raisin-infused Johnnie Walker Black Label with Drambuie, Christmas Bitters, double cream, sugar and a whole egg. Mixed in perfectly balanced quantities and served in a carafe for two with hand-chipped ice.
