Peter Taylor, ChairmanPeter Taylor is one of Scotland's most respected and celebrated successes in the hospitality and tourism industry. He has successfully embedded his core values of providing genuine, personal and memorable experiences through a hands-on and positive management style. His journey through his career has led to a string of accolades and awards, which begin in the early 1990's when one of his first hotels, Channings, was recognised as a finalist in the Business Game. A confident and motivated team has led to further recognition including, winner of the Scottish Enterprise Business Excellence Awards (1996), winner of The Scottish Marketing Awards (1999) and Investors in People accredited to each of his hotels (2000) and for The Town House Company (2002). Channings, The Bonham and The Howard have each won individual awards for quality and excellence. The Bonham was famously voted one of 21 of the world's coolest hotel by Conde Nast Traveller and Hotel of the Year by The Automobile Association (AA). Peter is recognised as a great visionary and ambassador for the wider hospitality and tourism industry. Currently he is on the board of the Scottish Tourism Forum has recently completed two years as UK Chairman of the British Hospitality Association, the national trade association of the hotel. He is also deeply involved as an adviser to other independent businesses. As part of his role with Scottish Business in the Community he chairs a Business Support Group in Edinburgh and a social inclusion partnership within the North of Edinburgh.
