The Town House Collection Rebrand

The Town House Company rebrands as The Town House Collection.

Founder and chairman Peter Taylor established The Town House Company in 1990, creating an entirely new category in the hotel industry in Scotland. The collection of 4 and 5* luxury boutique hotels has become the concept and standard against which many others have been judged and have emerged.

Eighteen years later, the company now owns and operates four properties in Edinburgh - described as the hospitality industry's most exceptional and successful town house hotels - with fifth property, Blythswood Square in Glasgow, due for completion in the spring of 2009.

As The Bonham celebrates its 10th anniversary this month and the company's new property Blythswood Square gets ready to open, Taylor has decided to readdress the group's identity and re-brand the company as The Town House Collection.

In addition, the rapid growth and change that the company is experiencing has led Taylor to consider future objectives and development. This includes the appointment of two new directors to the Board, Hans Rissmann, who has been promoted from operations director to managing director, and Doug Brotherston, financial director.

Over the past five years revenue has increased by almost 50% and occupancy sits at an average of 84% year round, placing it at the top of the industry league tables.

The success of The Town House Company is built on Peter Taylor's own vision and desire to provide guests with a genuine, personal and memorable experience.

Taylor commented: "Channings was our first hotel and quickly became one of Edinburgh's most fashionable places to stay. However, The Bonham definitely led the way in terms of 'chic' and 'cool' hotels, and there is no doubt that this property further endorsed The Town House Company within the hotel industry in the UK.

"Our next major achievement will be the opening of Blythswood Square in Glasgow which will offer the same levels of luxury and service, with the addition of a world-class spa.

"There is no doubt that we have great opportunities ahead and it's important that the business is structured appropriately. Therefore, I have decided to update our corporate look and feel with the introduction of The Town House Collection brand."
