About Edinburgh’s New Town
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Edinburgh’s New Town is a beautiful area to explore and is the perfect location for The Bonham. Our team will be more than happy to suggest places to visit and things to do in Edinburgh during your stay in the city centre
Enjoy nearby Stockbridge
Within easy walking distance of the hotel, Stockbridge has many lovely little luxury boutique shops and cafes to enjoy and provides a relaxing alternative to the bustling city centre. However, you won’t be so far out of town that you’ll be missing out as you can easily walk into the main shopping areas of George Street and Princes Street where many luxury brand stores and high streets stores are located.
The hotel is also in walking distance of the Royal Botanical Gardens which is lovely to visit any time of year.
Car Parking at the hotel
The Bonham has a small car park to the rear of the building, which is used on a first come first serve basis. Parking is charged at £2 per hour up to a max of £15 per 24 hours. Parking tickets are issued on arrival in the car park and should be paid for at reception.
Edinburgh has two railway stations: Waverley and Haymarket. Waverley is the main station, situated on Princes Street – 1.5 miles away and is approximately 10 minutes by taxi to the hotel. Haymarket Station to the west of the city centre is 5 minutes by taxi a half a mile away.
By Car - West & Airport
From the M8 Eastbound, take the A8 and after the airport to your left keep in the right lane, then under the underpass. Go straight on at major lights, keeping on this road for approximately 4 miles to a set of traffic lights with Haymarket railway station on the right. After these lights, turn second left at the next lights into Palmerston Place and then second right into Rothesay Place and The Bonham is 150 metres ahead, facing you.
By Car - North
Approach Edinburgh on the A90 from Forth Road Bridge and follow the signs for the city centre along Queensferry Road. At the Holiday Inn Garden Court Hotel (on the right), take the right fork on the road. Continue straight on at the roundabout through to the next set of traffic lights, and continue as the road bends right. Go over the Dean Bridge and at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Drumsheugh Gardens and right at the gardens. The hotel is at the end on the right.
By Car - South
The A1 will bring you right into Edinburgh’s city centre. Drive along Queen Street continuing until the end then bearing right down St Colme Street. Turn right after following the road Randolph Crescent onto Queensferry Street. Turn left onto Drumsheugh Gardens. The hotel is at the end on the right.
