I booked The Bonham for the 25th/26th January, it was my intention to propose to my girlfriend Diane whilst in Edinburgh and I wanted somewhere special to stay. I was not disappointed and have to say the hotel is brilliant, they even gave us a free upgrade to a Superior Room when they became aware of my plans. All the staff without exception were friendly and attentive, the restaurant staff in particular were lovely - even making sure we had the same table on Saturday evening. The food is to die for and we had most offerings from the menu between us over the weekend. I cannot thank you enough for assisting in making our special weekend just perfect. We will be back!!
We stayed at the Bonham for three nights , from 3rd to 6th January,This was our fourth stay, the last three being to celebrate our 28th December wedding anniversary.... and we couldn't have chosen a better venue! IWe were greeted with a glass of fizz- cheers!
I love the relatively small size of the hotel which creates an intimate atmosphere, the elegantly understated decor , the cosy bar and the charming, helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. On a practical note, Bonham's location is ideal with shops, cafes, bars, cinemas and theatres within easy walking distance. Parking in central Edinburgh is a valuable bonus too.
The Bonham has sentimental value for us , as our younger daughter was a resident there in one of its earlier incarnations as Muir Hall of Residence for Edinburgh University.Samuel Peploe lived there too. recommend his wonderful still lifes at Gallery of Modern Art.
As far as i'm concerned,Edinburgh is the best city in the world, and the Bonham its best hotel- by miles!
i had a lovely stay and the staff we extremely friendly and the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts i have ever had!
My wife and stayed overnight as a treat and went to watch the lion king at the playhouse. We had a wonderful time and the hotel was perfect. The staff were very attentive, our room was spacious and well appointed with a lovely view over the green to the front of the hotel. We had our evening meal in the hotel which was delicious. The food comes highly recommended and the breakfast was lovely with a wide variety of cooked dishes. Overall I can't fault the Bonham and would recommend it highly.
We stayed at the Bonham over the Christmas week, and on our second visit were reminded what an excellent hotel this is. The building and décor are beautifully done. The staff are professional, well informed and warm. The rooms are great, we had a view over the Forth. The food is always a delight and we would highly recommend this hotel. Do not hesitate to stay here.
