I have dined many times at The Bonham. The food and service is excellent, staff very attentive but not intrusive. The beautiful elegant dining room completes your dining experience. I have recommended The Bonhan to all my friends, have shared my 60th birthday with family there and last weekend had a very intimate lunch with my husband to celebrate his 65th birthday.
My first choice every time.
We had afternoon tea on voucher on Tues 3 June. Service was very efficient and pleasant. I always like sandwiches here and there are a little more than most other places. Scones with jam and cream were lovely as were cup cakes and macaroons. Ginger hread was a bit dry and not sold on deconstructed cheesecake. However, this would not stop us returning.
Most helpful assistance on arrival in pouring rain. Spacious elegant round table laid for four in beautiful traditional dining room with windows to views at front and rear. Limited but well varied menu and all dishes chosen were exceptionally good and the white house wine provided was distinctive and light. We had our coffee in the bar as our dog was allowed in to accompany us there.
All in all it was a memorable evening and all for a most reasonable outlay. If only parking and access were a bit easier.
I have traveled the afternoon tea trail around much of Scotland and use the consistently high standard of the Bonham as a benchmark which few can equal. In fact the Bonham's understudied elegance, discreet but attentive staff and exquisite food has made it a firm favourite for lunch and dinner . Do try the beetroot risotto, it is beyond compare!
Absolutely delighted with the service received! The food was superb! It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. I've been to Gleneagles, The Balmoral and Caledonian for afternoon tea and I have to say 'The Bonham' was the BEST.
