My Scottish Experice Photography Competition Winner

Martin McKay of Glasgow has been voted the winner of the My Scottish Experience photography competition. His photograph captured his dog Connie mid flight, catching stones on the banks of Loch Fyne in Argyll.

The competition was launched earlier this year by hotel group The Town House Collection and by the closing date on St Andrew's Day, more than 1,200 entries had been received.

Votes were cast by the general public throughout the month of December with Mr McKay emerging triumphant with over 500 votes for his picture entitled "Bonnie Connie".

As his prize Mr McKay will now be able to enjoy a 7 night stay in Scotland, staying 4 nights in one of the Town House Collection's four luxury boutique hotels in Edinburgh and 3 nights in their newest 5 star addition, Blythswood Square. In addition to a 50% discount on all accommodation at The Town House Collection for life, he also receives a wide range of Scottish Experiences throughout the trip, including a memorable guided tour of his choice with Wilderness Scotland, a round of golf at Craigielaw - a picturesque golf course located in East Lothian, a short journey from Edinburgh - and a tour of the iconic Edinburgh Castle.

Five runners up were also selected.  Stuart Guerin and Brian Girdwood - both of Edinburgh, Katy Hunter of Barrow in Cumbria and Steven Kelly and Rosie Barnett - both of London.

Martin said of his win: "Looking through the other entries, from cities to castles, I'm delighted that I won with a simple picture of our dogs, Connie and Tubs, on the beaches of Loch Fyne. I think it shows how much people appreciate the simple things in life, because it's the simple things that make Scotland such a brilliant place not only to live in, but to visit too!"
