A big thank you too everyone who entered and voted in our My Scottish Experience Competition. We had over 1200 entries, which showed a diverse selection of things to see and do in Scotland, from the festivals and special events to the beauty of the Scottish Countryside and wildlife. The response was brilliant!
The Winner!
Congratulations to Martin Kckay who has won our first prize with the photo 'Bonnie Connie' (pictured above).
Midge Mckay - A Bonnie Connie
'Late August 2009. Walking on the chuckie beaches of Loch Fyne with our two dogs Connie and Tubbs. Connie loves stones that much she could shift a whole beach in an hour flat. It's when you realise that you've spent an hour watching a dog catch stones in the air that you wonder why anyone would need anything else in the world'.
Midge wins a luxury 7 night holiday with The Town House Collection - including a selection of Scottish experiences and a 50% discount for life on accommodation.
Runners Up!
Well done to Stuart Guerin, RosieB, Steven Kelly, Brian Girdwood and KTHUNTER who are our runners up and have won a luxury overnight stay for two in their choice of Edinburgh Town House Collection Hotel
Brian Girdwood -Winters Day in the Pentlands
'I took this whilst walking early one morning in the Pentlands. Looking across the reservoir to Castlelaw hill'.
Steven Kelly - Beinn Doran, West Highland Way
'This is one of the first scenes one sees as they enter the West Highland Way of Scotland, coming from Killin direction. It's true what they say about first impressions and this breathtaking scene acts as a suitable introduction to the sheer beauty of what's has yet to come during a journey through Scotland's monumental Highlands'.
RosieB - Scotlands Rare Red Gem
'This was my first encounter with a red squirrel. A magical experience'!
Stuart Guerin - Dunnottar Castle
'Dunnottar Castle near Stonehaven is like something out of a fairytale. This spectacular ruined castle on the east coast of Scotland has a history as sinister as the cliffs on which it stands'.
KTHUNTER - My Cousin Kirsty's Wedding
My cousin Kirsty and her husband Russell were married in May 2008 in the beautiful Mull of Kintyre. The venue and weather were beautiful, it was a fantastic weekend.
